Minister Manickchand joins birth anniversary of century-old senior citizen

Minister of Human Service and Social Security Priya Manickchand joined Gertrude Dolphin in the celebration of her 100-year-old birthday in the presence of her friends and family members, along with members of the Government Pensioners Association to which she was an active member.
             Minister Manickchand expressed her gratitude to “Sister Gertrude” for her outstanding contribution to the Pensioners Association and to the society.

She said Government recognizes the value and contribution of its senior citizens and that is why a lot of effort is being put towards ensuring that pensioners are able to enjoy many benefits to make them comfortable.
Members and friends also paid tribute to her devotion to duty and her loyalty to the Government Pensioners Association which has been in existence for over 50 years. 
            Ms. Dolphin commended Minister Manickchand for ensuring that pensioners received a 100 percent raise from January this year.Sister Gertrude receives hamper.
