Goat lover case awaits probation report

The 17-year-old who admitted having sexual intercourse with a goat, is in police custody pending a probation report.

Seeram Krishna of Number Two Canal, West Bank Demerara was charged with bestiality after he was caught in a compromising position with the animal belonging to Nizam Shaw.

Shaw told the court that he was not requesting payment for the animal, even though it was a regular habit of Krishna to perform the abnormal act.

The teen's relatives, including a woman who identified herself as his wife, turned up at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate Court and requested that Krishna pay a fine for his crime.

However, Principal Magistrate Oscar Parvatan said the probationary department can possibly administer the help Krishna needs.

The teenager, who was caught with the goat on the Conservancy Dam, explained that he shared a relationship with a married woman, but she left him for reasons he refused to disclose.

Krishna said that women have hurt him terribly all his life and he is happy to keep away from them.

He added that the goat would not make noises and was very convenient.

The goat owner was hesitant to have the animal destroyed, as is routine practice.

The case is put down for June 28.
